Bob “Dutch” Van Lammers ‘59
Class of 1959
Bob “Dutch” Van Lammers

The Hill Campus was more dream than reality. The campus was downtown. We lived mostly in the downtown, be it in private homes or the fraternity houses. For most the social setting was the fraternities, Lewis House and the Potsdam State Sororities. Clarkson then was an all mens school and we looked at the State lassies as an extension of Clarkson.
Hockey was King played in the Old Walker Arena. No heat, just the excitement of the game, everyone pressed together, up close to the action and a little medicinal “cheer” passed around to keep the body and spirit warm. Oh the many victories and then on to the Friday evening Vic parties.
The Class of 1959 pays tribute to Bob Van Lammers, a ‘59er, great guy, a good friend of Clarkson and ’59 Lambdas, great hockey player (a Sigma Delta) who left this world much too soon. Mort Tiernaur, a good friend (and a Sig) brought his skates to the reunion so the class could pay tribute to Bob with a skate around Cheel in Bob’s skates.
