Joanne Clanton

Joanne Clanton, wife of Paul Clanton ’59, was born and grew up in Potsdam NY.  She was a Lambda Sweetheart for 60 years.  Joanne and Paul never missed one of our Florida reunions starting in 2006.  Joanne’s connection to Lambda and DU went beyond our annual gatherings.  Being a resident of Potsdam in the summers, she owned her parents former home on LeRoy Street.

During the recolonizing process in Potsdam, Joanne insisted we use her Potsdam home, at no cost for weeks at a time, to put up the alumni who came up to work on the project.  It made for a more pleasant stay in the winter and autumn months not to mention the costs saved by the fraternity.  You will find Paul & Joanne’s name on the House Donor Plaque in our appreciation for their support in the recolonization of DU and establishment of the new DU house.

Joanne will also be missed by the many LambdaDU wives whose friendship she cultivated during our many reunions.  The brothers and sisters she embraced will miss her warm smile and ready hand of friendship.  Rest in peace, sister Joanne.
