LambdaDU Work Week August 2018
Brothers,
The current undergrad chapter would like to thank the Alumni Corp for the generous donations in both time and funds to bring back the tradition of work week. This year’s work week may not have been a full week the way it was done in the past, however we were still able to get a few decent sized projects accomplished.
Clarkson facilities was helpful in dropping off mulch promptly Wednesday morning to make the house look good. We are currently the only house on campus to have any landscaping.
The new study room shelves are appreciate, we built the shelves to be five feet wide to fit the mass amount of study material that we have accumulated over the past couple of years. As you can see in the pictures we had the forethought to attach two boards in the middle to prevent future bending in the shelves. All in all these shelves came out pretty nice and will be useful for many years to come.
The additional shelves in the freezer room and in the closets are so much appreciate. Both rooms needed more organization. We are particularly excited about the closet shelving since it has allowed us to organize what has been passed down to us so we can have more knowledge of our shared history.
The handing out of water during move-in crew went well, too. There were many families that thanked us. Unfortunately, because of the rare occasion fo an 80 degree sunny day in Potsdam, the hot coffee did not go over with as much enthusiasm as we had hoped. Will be a bit of a learning experience for next year, maybe we will cool the coffee beforehand and serve it cold and refreshing rather than hot. Again, I want to thank the alumni corp for help making this work week happen and we will do our part to continue with this tradition.
Fraternally,
The Current Undergrad Chapter.
