The Fall '22 Semester Begins!
Chapter update
The brotherhood is happy to report that we will be officially back on campus and occupying the house this fall. After a year dormant, there is plenty of work to be done, and no shortage of excitement available to get started! Jack Baummer, the new undergraduate president, is leading the undergraduates through a house work week prior to the start of classes. Their goal is to touch up paint, landscaping, hang memorabilia, and make the campus house turn back into the fraternity’s home for this school year. We would like to also give a special thanks to our undergraduate chapter advisor, Steve Smalling for his unwavering commitment to supporting the chapter through work week and all other aspects of the fraternity’s endeavors. Stay tuned to the chapters social media pages and the alumni website for images of their progress.
After a summer of internships, vacations, and leisure, 14 young men will be back on campus in the DU house reconnecting, and settling back into the routine of college life. The chapter looks forward to a sense of normalcy not seen since pre-pandemic on campus.
A notable shift in the tides will be the chapters first semester as a substance free house. They are joined by Sigma Phi Epsilon on campus along with numerous other fraternities across the nation who are moving in this trend. Although an unfamiliar concept for our alumni, the undergraduates are adapting, and are confident that they will be able to recruit quality men who will also flourish in this new environment.
DU has evolved and adapted in astounding ways since 1834, and this is the latest step in our evolution. Many things will look very different for the chapter this year while others will remain the same. Never the less, a group of young men are embarking on one of the most memorable years of their lives. We are excited to continue sharing the progress of the whole brotherhood and hope to see you soon.
Fraternally,
The Clarkson DU Alumni Corp.
